Parent Involvement
A strong component of Cross Creek Charter Academy is the involvement of all of our parents. We hope to see you often at the school. Parents are always welcome in our building. There are several areas in which parents can be an integral part of the school. Some of these include: Classroom help, school committees, lunch supervision, recess supervision, office help, after school tasks, field trips and many other areas.
One of our most important ways to get involved is through the Cross Creek PTO.
The Cross Creek parent teacher organization is committed to being a positive influence in our school. Our membership includes all parents, legal guardians, and staff at Cross Creek Charter Academy. The PTO encourages a close relationship between home and school by providing opportunities for all members to become involved in the Cross Creek Charter Academy community. The team effort of the PTO offers an avenue for you to become directly involved in the learning environment for our students.
The PTO sponsors assistance to teachers within the classroom setting, raises funds for supplemental educational materials and experiences, contributes to facility improvements, supports school and family social interaction and provides a forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children.
All members are welcome to attend monthly meetings. The detailed meeting schedule and locations are available in the school office or on the school calendar.
Another way to get involved as a family is through our:
WATCHD.O.G.S. PROGRAM
Cross Creek Charter Academy was proud to become part of the WATCHD.O.G.S. Program this year. WATCHD.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a safe schools initiative of the National Center for Fathering that involves fathers and paternal figures to (1) serve as an unobtrusive security presence and (2) act as positive male role-models for children at school. Founded in 1998, WATCHD.O.G.S. is a unique program that involves fathers in the lives of children and schools. WATCHD.O.G.S. has been initiated in 400 schools in 31 states. WATCHD.O.G.S. are fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles and other male adults who volunteer at their child’s school for one (or more) days each year to assist in a variety of school activities as assigned by the principal or school liaison. You can sign up at anytime in the office.
